What is the minimum and maximum age required to rent a vehicle?

Drivers must be 25 years or older. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis with approval.

Is there a required interval between bookings?

Yes. A 24–48 hour interval is required between bookings.

What is the shortest and longest rental duration allowed?

Shortest rental: 2 days

Longest rental: No maximum length, as long as needed

Do you offer any discounts or promotions?

Yes, we offer extended rental discounts:

10% off – 7-day rentals

15% off – 15-day rentals

20% off – 30-day rentals

Is a security deposit required?

Yes. A $250 security deposit is required.

How are sales tax, coupons, and additional fees applied?

A 7.75% sales tax is applied. All applicable coupons, taxes, and fees are calculated as part of the rental agreement.

How many miles are included with the rental?

Each rental includes 250 miles per day.

What are your standard business hours?

Business hours are Monday–Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

What delivery locations do you offer, and what are the fees?

San Diego Airport delivery or pickup: $100

What are the allowed pick-up and return times?

Pick-ups and returns are available Monday–Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
All delivery and pick-up times must be scheduled with 24-hour advance notice.

Is there a specific schedule for custom deliveries?

Yes. Custom deliveries must be arranged in advance and approved by Kays Cars LLC.

Do you allow pick-ups and returns outside business hours?

No. Pick-ups and returns are limited to standard business hours.

Are there any important extra details renters should know?

Pre-Paid Gas: $55

Refueling Fee: $20 + cost of fuel

Late Fee: $25 per day

Retrieval Fee: $300

Do you offer additional equipment or services?

Yes. The following equipment is available:

Wheelchair: $100

Mobile Walker: $100

Are there any related fees for equipment?

Yes. If rented equipment is not returned, a $500 replacement fee per item will be charged.

What are the charges for exceeding the included mileage?

Additional mileage is charged at $0.35 per mile beyond the daily allowance.

What is the cost for an additional driver?

An additional driver fee of $100 applies. The driver must be insured.

What are the penalties or fees for smoking in the vehicle?

🚭 No smoking allowed. Any evidence of smoking will result in a $200 cleaning fee.

Are there any fees associated with EZ Pass or toll usage?

Yes. Renters are responsible for all tolls incurred during the rental.
If tolls are unpaid, a $150 toll usage fee plus the cost of the tolls will be charged.
Please plan ahead if using toll lanes, as Kays Cars LLC does not manage toll payments.

Is there a cleaning fee? Under what conditions is it charged?

Cleaning fees apply if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty:

Moderate Cleaning – $50 (mud, sand, light debris, minor odors, small spills)

Heavy Cleaning – $100 (moderate stains, heavy odors, extensive bug debris)

Severe Cleaning – $150 (steam cleaning or full detailing)

Extremely Dirty – $250

Filthy – $300+

🐶 NO ANIMALS allowed. Please keep all pets at home.

🚭 Absolutely NO smoking (cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, vapes, etc.). Masking odors will not prevent charges—any evidence of smoking will result in a $200 cleaning fee.
